"Bertrando" is available for adoption! This very kind, handsome, lightly raced, eight year old gelding was rescued from a dealer in
August 2009 to prevent him from shipping to slaughter. Unfortunately, although sound, Bertrando is a "roarer", and has
suffered from COPD. He dislikes living in enclosed (stall) spaces, and re-training him - given his respiratory issues - will require a
lot of patience and time however our vet felt a second career was perfectly plausible for him. We have re-started him under
saddle (see photos below), however we are adopting him out as a flat/light pleasure horse that is green broke only, to an
adopter experienced with off-track thoroughbreds or an adopter working with a trainer that is experienced with off-track
thoroughbreds. Bertrando is a large horse, 16hh+ and long. Please call Jackie at (951) 768-2043 to discuss a visit or possible
