"Missy" is available for adoption. Missy is a very pretty 1998 bay mare, whom we purchased at auction in February 2008 to
prevent her from shipping out of state to slaughter. Missy is a Breeder's Cup nominated, California bred mare who raced four
times, injured her left front knee, and has since been used as a sport horse broodmare (having had three foals) and as a lesson
horse. Missy has good ground manners, and loves to be groomed and played with. She was, at the date of her rescue,
serviceably sound for walk/trot trail or pleasure riding, but stiffness in her knee has increased and she is (as of November 2011)
available now only as a companion horse or pet. Missy is up to date on vaccinations, de-worming, farrier, and teeth. Note: Missy
is a cribber, and requires a special diet. Please call Jackie at (951) 768-2043 to discuss a possible adoption of Missy, and for
additional details. Missy is located at a private foster home in Oak Hills, California.
